Council plan to buy historic Lamb House knocked back by Queensland government

The state government knocked back a Brisbane City Council pitch to jointly buy a dilapidated historic riverside mansion to put it in public hands.

The property — called Home but more widely known as Lamb House — is a heritage-listed site at Kangaroo Point consisting of more than 3,000 square metres of prime inner-city land overlooking the Brisbane River with panoramic views of the CBD and the Story Bridge.
